Carlos Escamilla was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and is known to his fans as “Charly Boy”. He is a self-taught musician with early influence from his father who sang Mariachi and played the guitar. He was also heavily inspired by the movie “La Bamba” and had the determination to teach himself how to play the bass, keyboard, and percussion.
Charly started playing with different bands at the age of 18 and went on to form the band Super Sueño in 1995. What first started off as a band consisting of Charly’s cousin and a few friends that loved music has grown into a band that has recorded 9 albums and several music videos. Charly is the Lead Vocalist, Electric Bass and Songwriter behind the band.
Super Sueño debuted their first album, Encuentro de Amor, in 1999 with Charly as Lead Vocalist and Bass player. Super Sueño has been a strong influence in the Tejano music culture ever since.
Super Sueño is continuously creating mostly original new music. The band also tours throughout the Texas and Mexico for private parties, weddings, local radio appearances, television network appearances and other live performances.
I invite you to visit the "Video" page to view and listen to Super Sueño's latest videos and recordings.
